Rotterdam, November 20, 2007 - EXIN (Examination Institute for Information Science) and TÜV SÜD Akademie are jointly developing a new, multi-level IT certification program for ISO/IEC 20000. The new certification program
IT Service Management according to ISO/IEC 20000 will be a recognized, independent certification aimed at professional development of various groups of IT staff.
Accreditation of training providers is part of the new program and ensures high quality training for the new exams. The first exam (in English and German), leading towards the
Foundation Certificate according to ISO/IEC 20000, will be made available to all exam candidates in early January 2008. Other exams are set to follow, while translations will be available in languages including Spanish and Japanese.
The new qualification and certification program
The new certification program is perfectly suited for IT staff already experienced in other successful standards and best practices, such as ITIL®, MOF, COBIT, ISO 9000, CMMI and ASL. The certification program comprises 4 levels:
Foundation Level, Professional Level, IT Management Track and an Auditing Track. (Please see more information about the
ISO/IEC 20000 certification program and
qualification scheme.)
In addition to starting the program on the foundation level, it offers IT staff (who already hold relevant certificates) the option of entering the program at an advanced level. The new certification program has been developed according to the rules for international certification of persons (EN ISO/IEC 17024). Accreditation by an Accreditation Body is expected within the year 2008.
