Getting Ready for The Last 4 Months

It is August, and for most Europeans, that means it is time to celebrate their vacation. A time to take a well-deserved break from business, school, or study. For me, it means time to prepare for what will be coming in the last months of the year. It will be September by the time everyone will be in full swing again, and that leaves only four more months before 2019 starts. So what is to prepare for? Most of my time will be dedicated to updating the ITIL Foundation courseware ITpreneurs offers together with a great number of participants from the ITSM community.

Being part of the AXELOS Lead Architect Team for ITIL 4 does put me in an advantaged position, of course, but as ITpreneurs has built its ITIL courseware in the past, it will also do so again. With the engagement of the ITSM community. A call to participate has been answered by many, and the development team and I are thrilled that they did.

By some ITIL is seen as the traditional framework of reference which cannot be applied to this modern world where Agile, Scrum, DevOps, and Continuous Delivery tend to rule. I could spend many more paragraphs to debate the position of ITIL in an era where everything becomes digital and connected. Industry 4.0 and the 4th industrial revolution are pushing for new boundaries, new ways of thinking, and with that, the framework that has guided so many organizations in the past decades requires an update.

The structure of ITIL 4 is designed around a value stream model. The beauty of creating it in such a way means that the model can be applied in both traditionally organized organizations and in organizations that have adopted Agile, Scrum, DevOps, and Continuous Delivery ways of working.

ITIL 4 is built for the future!

ITpreneurs prepares to launch its first releases of the new courseware already this year, to provide all of our partners the opportunity to go to market as soon as AXELOS releases ITIL 4 in 2019. Be on the lookout for upcoming Train the Trainer sessions!
